Who are we?

We are a kitten training school, focusing on early socialisation, basic life skills and problem prevention. It is essential to socialise kitties by gradually exposing them to humans, sounds, new situations, other cats, grooming, vet checks, and other furry friends within the household. A well-socialised kitty means you will be able to provide the care needed to keep your cat happy and healthy.

Socialising kitties can reduce the risk of fearful behaviour as they mature and prevent behaviour issues such as over-grooming, scratching, and other destructive behaviours. A well-trained and well-socialised kitty is likelier to be outgoing and curious and less likely to be anxious or fearful.

Kristina is a proponent of early socialisation and training for puppies for more than a decade. She often also train cats who lives with the dog student under her care. She experience it first hand that cats can learn and can be a social animal. Cats can be taught how to come, go to place, give paw, jump over a hoop, etc. Dogs and cats have a slightly different learning mechanism but they each have their own strength and intelligence - one is not superior than the other.

Kristina learns feline behaviour, how to train cats and how to troubleshoot when problem behaviour arises from a variety of educational institution. She graduated from University of Washington as an UW-AAB (Applied Animal Behaviourist). She also holds a Certificate in Advanced Applied Ethology (CAAE) from Ethology Institute Cambridge - both institution have in depth modules in cat behaviour and training. She also completed the basic cat training course by Karen Pryor Academy.

She now lives with her dogs (Josh and Milly) and her British Shorthair cat, Ella. Josh, Milly and Ella gets along so well, showing that dogs and cats can live together and enrich each other. Follow their adventure at their insta account @lilac.ella_and_co
